Beta version 9.6.20 has been released, in which we’ve addressed several long-standing issues, particularly regarding graphic display support.
What’s changed
The main focus was on two areas: expanding the list of supported hardware and simplifying interface development.
First, the firmware now supports a large group of graphic display controllers. The list of compatible controllers is now as follows:
SSD1322, SSD1306, SSD1309, SSD1312, SSD1315, CH1107, CH1115, SH1106, ST7565, ST7567S, ST7920, ST7789, ST7735, ILI9163, ILI9225, ILI9341, and ILI9486.
In short, virtually all popular models, from simple monochrome to color, used in DIY projects today are covered.
Secondly, to make working with screens easier, we’ve added a visual editor. Now you don’t need to manually calculate the coordinates of each element. Simply place buttons, indicators, or text on the screen layout, and the program will automatically generate the code. This should save time for those who frequently create projects with interfaces.
Other updates
1. The Remote XY support module has been updated—under the hood, several issues have been fixed for a more stable connection.
2. The web interface editor has been cleaned up. For those creating projects on ESP, the layout should be neater.
3. A long list of bugs accumulated in previous versions has been fixed. These are minor, but annoying, issues—we’ve made an effort to clean them up.
This is a test version, so if you try it out—especially the section with new displays—I’d appreciate your feedback. Any comments will help make the release more stable.
